Louis Bernstein Lecturer: Percutaneous coronary intervention: from balloon angioplasty to disappearing stents
Professor Michael Haude is Director of the Medical Clinic at Städtische Kliniken Neuss, Lukaskrankenhaus and teaches at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf .
His interests in the scientific fields of work are: development of coronary stenting technology , development of coronary bioabsorbable scaffold technology, interventional therapy of structural heart disease, assessment of myocardial perfusion and coronary flow reserve by digital x-ray and doppler-techniques, alternative coronary interventional techniques (Rotablator, cutting balloons, CTO and bifurcation techniques), the treatment of acute coronary syndrome, ACE-inhibitors in congestive heart failure and assessment of cardiac output by transesophageal Doppler measurements.
He has over 250 PubMed listed scientific publications.
He is a member of the German Society of Cardiology and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. Professor Haude is the current Past-Chairman of the Working Group on Interventional Cardiology (AGIK) of the German Society of Cardiology. He is an EAPCI Board Member and EAPCI President-elect for 2016 – 2018. He is on the board of EuroPCR and Executive board member of PCR London Valves 2015.
